Kitchen #1: Brooks Family Remodel

Kitchen 1 Hoffman
Location Crystal River, FL
Designer Kimberlie Hoffmann
Project Manager Bubba Keller
Cabinetry Bridgewood Frameless painted in “Ultra-Matte Black”, Door Style: “Era Suede”
Countertop Granite, “Titanium” (Leathered) with pencil edge.

About the Kitchen

The Brooks family had finally found their ‘dream home’ on the canal in Crystal River. The location was perfect, but the interior needed an update, so the team started with the kitchen/family room. They loved a contemporary style so a Matte Black flat panel acrylic door style was selected. The original kitchen had a large imposing island that encroached into the family room too much. There was also an awkward small center island causing the work flow to be interrupted. The team moved the plumbing and created a large working island with seating at one end. They improved the work flow and gave room back to the family space for better entertainment. Appliance panels create a stream line look and organization inserts help make storage more versatile. Designer Kimberlie Hoffman said of the project, “I was excited to work with the materials they chose and I’m very proud of the outcome.”

Although, Kimberlie has lived in the South before, Florida is a different kind of South! She is enjoying what the area has to offer and the new friends she is making.

Kitchen #2: Neal Family Remodel

Kitchen 2 Hernon
Location Odessa, FL
Designer Robin Hernon
Project Manager Ray Bennett
Cabinetry Medallion Maple painted in “Sea Salt”, Door Style: “Bayside”
Countertop Cambria Quartz, “Everleigh” with pencil edge.

About the Kitchen

The Neal Family needed to update and brighten their kitchen. The team had to stay within the confines of the old kitchen, while providing a new, functional, family space for the homeowners and their children. For this project, they went with a Shaker-style, inset door, with a beautiful bright white paint from Medallion Cabinetry. Medallion was chosen for this project for the customization and consistent high-quality finish. In keeping with the trends, the homeowner selected satin brass hardware, complimented by her faucet and matching pot filler. Instead of a tile backsplash, we opted for the new Cambria Everleigh for their countertops, and full height splash. “I love the Cambria Everleigh color because it has that notable movement that Cambria is so well known for, but still subtle and not overwhelming,” said Designer Robin Hernon. “It’s muted, while still being a bold statement piece for any kitchen.”

When they moved to Florida, Robin took that as an opportunity and a challenge to find somewhere she could learn the other side of the business. She knew how to install, now she wanted to learn to design. Robin couldn’t be more thankful to have landed where she did. In 3 short years, she has designed over 125 kitchens, she has become a 2020 Certified Designer, and a SEN Design Level II graduate.

Kitchen #3: Andriole Family New Construction

Kitchen 3 Marker
Location Weeki Wachee, FL
Designer Darlene Marker
Project Manager Phil Labarbara
Cabinetry BJ Tidwell painted in “Black” and “Bright White”, Door Style: “Shaker II”
Countertop Island in Cambria Quartz “Blackbrook”, Perimeter in Pompeii Quartz “Thazos”

About the Kitchen

The Andriole Family and their builder Pastore Custom Builders came in with a request for a unique black and white kitchen. Half black, half white, draw a VERTICAL line and split the colors! As we fine-tuned the design, it came alive! With the inclusion of a large quartz island countertop with waterfall legs to the floor, the concept began to take shape. “I love the bold contrast of the black and white, gorgeous Cambria Blackbrook countertop, black with white veining on the island. The black range hood to compliment the island and the black side of the kitchen helps to balance the room,” says Designer Darlene Marker. “Our client’s excellent taste in tile splash in the coffee area and the gold toned hardware and metal accents finished this beautiful project.”

Darlene Marker

About the Designer

Darlene Marker

Darlene Marker’s dream job was to be an architect, with her office in a barn and a horse who could talk. She started her career drafting for a Tampa architect to break into the industry, when they drew everything by hand! Darlene soon transitioned to cabinet drafting and designed residential and commercial projects. She quickly fell in love with the challenge of cabinet design, designing food courts, restaurant millwork, bank counters and other difficult builds. Her claim to fame is designing the millwork for the Tampa Stadium Press Box for Super Bowl XVIII. Please don’t do the math, she states! Darlene later managed a Corian fabrication facility, owned a local, organic farm, but never completely left kitchen design. Many, many years later, now in her second round designing for Deems, she still loves living on Florida’s Nature Coast and loves what she does. Darlene is still looking for that talking horse though.
